In the desert sands of western Oman near Shishr are the ruins of the Pillars of Iram named for a tribe of the progeny of Ad (the Kingdom of Ad) who was a son of Shem’s grandson Uz (whose father was Aram), yet the progeny of Shem’s great grandson Heber through the line of Joktan (the Qahtani) moved in and became dominant there, the Kingdom of Ubar named for Heber, a big supplier of incense.
