During the Ice Age, the Great Lakes were covered by several thousand feet of snow, but by the time of king Solomon who operated the Minas del Rey Salomon in cooperation with the Phoenicians (named for king Agenor’s son Phoenix) near Huelva of far southwestern Spain, the Great Lakes were completely free of the Ice Age snowpack when the Phoenicians (in cooperation with Solomon) began exploiting the extremely pure copper deposits of the southern shore of Lake Superior, that mining which continued for several centuries.
