According to attorney William Barr, the federal prosecutors of Roger Stone’s case had told him (Barr) that Stone’s sentence upon conviction would be much less than 7 to 9 years, thus the prosecutors lied to Barr so that when the sentence (7 to 9 years) was announced, president Trump would protest, to make it look as though Barr was just rubber-stamping Trump’s sentiments when in reality the lighter sentence was what Barr was told in the first place.
