Sondland’s Opening Statement Omits That Trump Told Him No Quid Pro Quo Because Wants His Suspicion the Narrative

According to Gordon Sondland’s testimony today at the impeachment hearing, no one ever told him that the additional military aid to Ukraine was hinged on Zelensky’s cooperation to investigate Burisma and the Bidens (plus CrowdStrike), in other words, there was no quid pro quo, although Mr Sondland also testified that he suspected that in effect Trump’s request to investigate corruption in Ukraine was a quid pro quo. Interestingly and quite telling, Sondland forgot to mention in his opening statement that president Trump during a phone call had told him that he (Trump) wanted no quid pro quo, just that he wanted Zelensky to carry though on his campaign promise to root out corruption in Ukraine.
