Freedom loving Iranians learned a hard lesson back in 2009 when they uprose against their government expecting at least oratorical support from the newly elected U. S. president Obama, but got none, so the uprisings in Iran’s cities this week were surely undertaken with hopeful trepidation, not really knowing how Trump would respond, which short of military support has been outstanding with comments such as “the people should be allowed to peacefully protest . . . the whole world is watching.”
