When the Ice Age was ending, Queen Myrina of diminishing Lake Tritonis (now the Great Eastern Erg of the Sahara) moved to attack the “Atlantioi” at Cerne (location uncertain), according to the Sicilian greek historian Diodorus Siculus, and Smryna of the Aegean coast of Anatolia is said to have been founded by Myrina, legendary queen of the Amazons; whether by land or sea, they had made their way to “Asia” in the timeframe of much disruption of the ancient world circa 1300 b. c.
