The impressive qanats of Iran were not built until circa 1000 b. c., a puzzlement to the uniformitarians who wonder why those subterranean artesian canals needn’t have been built a thousand years before when such know-how surely was available, after all, the most impressive ancient structures (such as the Great Pyramid of Giza) are the older ones, and according to the uniformitarians’ model, ancient Iran (and throughout the middle latitudes) was just as dry circa 2000 b. c. as it was circa 1000 b. c.
