Two hundred miles west of Herat in Afghanistan is Gonabad in Iran where are some of the most impressive qanat tunnels for gravity water flow in the Middle East, begun built when the Ice Age had ended by such as those who departed the region of Herat, named for the Hari Rud also known as the Arius, in the land of Aria, the name for Iran apparently by those who had come from the ice age Bactria Margiana Archaeological Complex in the valley of the Arius.
