The Philistim in Genesis 10, progeny of Kaptara (the Caphtorim in Genesis 10), settled on Kaptara (later known as Crete) and apparently sailed on to the Adriatic where they were known as the Palaeste who about five centuries later when the Ice Age ended were of the “Sea People” (with mycenaean pottery), marauders of the eastern coastline of the Mediterranean where they became known as the Philistines.
