During the Ice Age (in the aftermath of Noah’s Flood) when the confusion of language at the Tower of Babel was completed and the tribes were scattering, on the way to where Javan would be identified as the progenitor of the Ionians (Ion/Javan), he and/or some of his progeny first came ashore on the island named Kupros (Cyprus), the greek word for copper, the island which was also known as Alashiya named for Javan’s son Elisha (see Genesis 10), and toward the north from there, central coastal Turkey (named for Togarmah’s son Turqi) is the valley of the the Tarsus river, named for Tarshish, another son of Javan.
