The phrase “trying to play God (Elohim)” certainly applies to Satan, who with his free will given to him decided to rebel against Elohim, thenceforth sin, disease, and death come into the world, so when bad things happen, look at the instigator of it all, and cling to Elohim who will ultimately defeat forever that evil rebel bent on destruction since his deception of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
