Temporary(?) attorney general Matthew Whitaker (replacing Jeff Sessions) can serve in that capacity up to seven months until his successor need be confirmed, so president Trump can slow-walk the naming of the new permanent AG for confirmation by the U. S. Senate for maybe four weeks, in order perhaps that Whitaker will be able get the wheels turning for the investigations of ObamaGate (which of course encompasses many scandals), that the Democrats in the Senate will be screaming for the new AG to be named, anybody but Whitaker perhaps their refrain.
