The Berbers of northwestern Africa call ancient Atlantis Atala, like Atlantic from the atl root of Atlas (a son of Sidon/Posidon), that root apparently the etymology for the word water (atl), and Atala is the name of a western land and empire indicated in ancient Vedic literature of India, the capital of Atala called Tripura, an island city within three rings of canals. This city of Atlantis is submerged somewhere south of Cadiz, Spain, perhaps about thirty miles due south about a hundred-fifty feet down.
