Six settlements of wooden structures (with water wells) built during the Ice Age have been reported off the coast of northern Israel from Haifa to Atlit (where offshore are the stone ruins and foundations of homes of ice age Atlit Yam), and to the north off Sidon (Posidon), Yarmuta, and Byblos of Lebanon are submerged more labor-intensive stone structures, built at the same time as the wooden structures to the south, all submerged when the Ice Age ended circa 1500 b. c., having been built by the Canaanites.
