In the Republican primary for a U. S. Senate seat from Mississippi in 2014, Thad Cochran recruited about 3,000 Democrats to vote for him in the Republican-only primary, cheating Chris McDaniel out of the nomination for the Senate seat won by Cochran, so Mississippians may well feel like righting that wrong by voting for the strong constitutional nationalist McDaniel who is reaching out to blacks in the state for economic opportunity, beckoning them to leave the Democrat plantation.
