Leuko or light may be a Semitic word adopted by the Indo Europeans because Luz was the name of the Canaanite city which later became known as Bethel (founded by Abraham), and the Hittite word for light or bright is lukezi, the Hittites a tribe of the Canaanites, or did they adopt the word from Japhethites?
