Why Don’t European Countries Just Pay What They Owe to NATO Rather Than Complain That Trump’s Unreasonable?

The European countries refusing to pay what they owe to NATO, complaining instead that Trump is the bad guy in demanding it, show ill-will to the United States, not the other way around.
