Frequently proclaimed by the biblephobes is that Hebrew is a Canaanite language, but in reality the Hebrews (the progeny of Heber, a great grandson of Shem) were many in the days of Abraham in Canaanite territory (the Promised Land), the Hebrews who taught the Canaanites their language and writing system which vaulted the Phoenicians (named for Agenor’s son Phoenix) to great fame for having brought their alphabet (Hebrew) to the Mediterranean a thousand years later.
