Across the wide northern portion of the nation of Jordan in ancient times lived the Amorites (progeny of Canaan), when the land received much more rainfall, wide varieties of plants and animals abounded, it was during the Ice Age, where flint was quarried for millions of tools produced and the astronomical megalithic site, the Wildcats’ Pile of Stones (Rujim el-Hiri), was built of the basaltic rock dominating much of the region. Amor was a son of Canaan, who probably is the namesake of America by the Spaniards over three thousand years later having picked up the name Amuraca upon arrival in “the new world.”
