Both secretary of state Mike Pompeo and president Trump have expressed great concern about Hezbollah’s presence in Venezuela, exemplified by the fact that Tareck El Aissami, the vice president under Maduro, is supported by Hezbollah, so breaking up that Iranian backed influence in Venezuela could be the pretext for an intervention there, which would put Maduro’s regime in jeopardy.
