One of the designs for the wall which reportedly interests president Trump is solid steel for the upper portion with a tubular top edge so grappling hooks won’t catch, and from the solid steel to the ground steel slats so that the border security people can see through, but ropes can be thrown over the wall then grabbed between the steel slats to tie-off there, so that for this one reason alone it’s a bad idea, not mentioning that the desperadoes could shoot the security people through the vertical slats!
