The DACA people could receive permanent worker status (subject to deportation for criminal offenses) so that then those wanting U. S. citizenship status would leave the country to apply for citizenship the legal way, this solution that those wanting to peacefully stay will be allowed to stay but not be able to vote, and those wanting citizenship free to leave to gain citizenship upon return. It’s understandable that the DACA people want to stay but citizenship is not owed them yet it would be available to them.
