Everyone knew that at least a million protesters would descend upon Washington D. C. to the grounds near the U. S. Capitol on J6 to protest the rigged 2020 election, so everybody (except Nancy Pelosi and Muriel Bowser who controlled Capitol security) assumed that the Capitol would be very well protected (particularly then after the “summer of love”), and president Trump certainly tried to protect by having offered 10,000 National Guard troops (refused by Pelosi and Bowser thereby complicit in the invasion).
