Called “the Machu Picchu of the Balkans,” amazing Perperikon the magnificent ancient stone city on the eastern edge of the Rhodope mountains of south-central Bulgaria was the capital of powerful Thrace, Perperikon said to have been (during the Ice Age) the home base of the god Sabazios (liberty Zeus) who in reality was Noah’s son Japheth, and probably Japheth’s son Tiras (namesake of the Thracians) too, it was a famously rich ancient gold mining district, the envy of the Greeks to the south.
