Putin has secured the allegiance of all the Muslim countries of the Middle East and Central Asia bordering southern Russia, only Ukraine at Russia’s southwestern border a foe, so why didn’t the experts fully expect Putin to invade non-NATO Ukraine, particularly considering that he began the military buildup at the Ukraine border a year ago, and in July all but stated that he will be invading?
