The Kievan Rus (Vikings who had come down and conquered in the 9th century adopting the Slavic language) and the Poles in the 12th century called the land between their two kingdoms the frontier, the meaning of the word ukraina (“the Ukraine” as the Soviets called it), so maybe Zelensky will propose that his country be renamed as not to be considered any other nation’s frontier, maybe instead a good name Askaniya for Japheth’s grandson Ashkenaz for whom were named the Scythians.
