During the legendary flood of Dardanus (the ending of the Ice Age), also known as the flood of Ogyges, the Arcadian Dardanus of Greece voyaged across the Aegean to found Dardania at the foot of Mount Ida on the coast of western Turkey, nearby where later his grandson Troas would build Troy, that city which survived for about three hundred years until destroyed during the Trojan War.
