Anubis was the Egyptian god depicted as a dog guarding the gateway to the dead in the underworld, in the west where the sun sets, where are the Canary Islands (from the word canine), and considering the Guanches (genetically like the Amazigh Berbers of northwestern Africa) of those Islands built pyramids and mummified the dead, linkage to Old Kingdom Egypt (during the Ice Age) is apparent, those islands after the Ice Age become known as “the purple islands” for the Murex shell creatures which provided the legendary purple die of the Phoenicians (named for Phoenix a son of Agenor in the Levant).
