Ron DeSantis cannot run for president in 2024 unless the Florida state legislature changes the law precluding a currently serving office holder from running for another office, so do you suppose many Republican state legislators want DeSantis to complete his term as governor (through 2026) and then run for the presidency in 2028 (therefore not wanting the law changed), and maybe even that DeSantis is working behind the scenes for the law to not be changed that 2028 be his target?
