Google search Global Flood Legends to see that hundreds of tribes (spread after the Tower of Babel) maintained that ancient tradition through the centuries, their stories which differ in some ways while commonality in many others, preeminently that the Flood covered the earth (see Page titled Natural Selection by Noah’s Flood). Who would think that a flood covered the earth unless it really did happen, why not a “made up story” about a global windstorm or a worldwide inferno?
