In Genesis 10 (the Table of Nations), Jerah is listed the fourth son of Joktan, who founded the ancient town Yarach in the mountains of western Saudi Arabia and Yurach in Yemen of the southern coast of the Arabian peninsula, for whom was named the Yamen Arabic dialect, probably the closest Arabic dialect to the original Arabic given to Jerah at the Tower of Babel (the Bible says that in the days of Joktan’s brother Peleg, therefore of Joktan, was the earth divided which was division by language).
