Our base 60 nautical mile mapping system with arc minutes and arc seconds would be changed to the Metric system of numbering if not for the fact that the earth was anciently measured accurately by base 60 timekeeping (see Page titled Great Pyramid for Navigation), that basis actually for the original ancient foot unit of measure (the Olympic foot of 12.16 modern inches), precisely 3,000 of which compose the base perimeter length of the Great Pyramid, though largely replaced these days by the Metric system.
