Going into the 2020 presidential election, 58 counties in the U. S. voted in majority for every eventual winner since the 2000 presidential election (through five elections), and in 2020, Trump won 51 of those counties. Even more telling is that of the 19 counties which had voted majorities for the eventual winner since 1980 (ten elections), Trump in 2020 won 18 of those by an average margin of sixteen points!
