When Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution was causing much turmoil within England’s intellectual community during the 1860’s and 1870’s, Darwin with “the father of modern geology” Charles Lyell, influential anthropologist Thomas Huxley, and wealthy banker and archeologist John Lubbock joined with five other leading intellectuals to form the X Club which would meet periodically for dinner to share ideas, they who led the fight against the teaching of biblical history, instilling in academia rather that swamp goo morphed into you over billions of years and that the geologic processes measurable today were the cause of the geologic formations (instead see Page titled Natural Selection by Noah’s Flood).
