Today on the 12th ballot for Speaker of the U. S. House of Representatives, Byron Donalds voted for McCarthy which paved the way for those following (in alphabetic order) to feel free to vote for McCarthy too, now if Democrats fail to show up to vote, the number needed for McCarthy to win is reduced, thus it’s possible for McCarthy to be elected today, although they all seem present as the voting continues.
