When Saul of Tarsus (born in 5 a. d.) was a child, his family moved to Jerusalem where he became a Pharisee having been instructed by Gamaliel, then after his (Saul’s) spectacular born again experience on the road to Damascus, he became known as Paul, a Latin name meaning little which he apparently selected as he would evangelize the Romans in the years to come.
