Canaan’s father Ham (see Genesis 10) was made a god, El-Hamon, later called Baal Hammon by the Canaanites having become known as the Phoenicians (named for king Agenor’s son Phoenix when the Ice Age was ending), the Phoenicians who built Carthage on the southern Mediterranean coast where today is called Tunisia (named for the Frisian Teunis also known as Neptunis?) and worshipped Baal-Hammon, the god Amun at that time begun to be worshipped by the Egyptians at the Siwa Oasis.
