Antikythera Device 24 Gears Arranged in Sync in Mantle-Sized Case Measured Precession by Stars’ Positions in Night Sky

The amazing ancient astronomical measuring device discovered in a ship which sank circa 300 b. c. off the coast of Greece, the Antikythera Mechanism (an intricately designed device of 24 finely crafted brass gears in a case that would fit on your mantle) measured the positions of the stars relative to the planets, meaning the movement of the stars because of the 72 years/degree rate of the earth’s axial precession was measured, that instrument which allowed the ancients to measure longitude and thus accurately measure and map the earth, hence the etymology of the word geometry (earth measure).
