The Democrats having won a Congressional seat in a swing district (“purple”) of New York yesterday is being grandly trumpeted as a bellwether election (portending things to come in the midterms this fall), projection with scant evidence, yet president Trump in 2020 won 18 out of 19 bellwether counties (which had picked every presidential winner since 1980), so wonder why that’s not much discussed?
