Why Would Jesus Have Sacrificed Himself If Many Ways Available to Avoid Oblivion or Nothing Like That to Fear at All?

Jesus died (then resurrected) for nothing if there are really many ways to find Truth (“if that’s possible”) and salvation from eternal oblivion, so do you believe that humanity is far from holy thus in need of a Savior or do you think humanity is all in the same boat with no hope of avoiding oblivion?
