The word kopher or gopher (wood) meant cover (the wood for Noah’s Ark) in the original and sole language until the confusion of language at the Tower of Babel after which the Akkadians (Assyrians of Asshur a son of Shem) assumed the word Gipparu meaning wood in general (including firewood), and Pelasgians of Peleg a great great grandson of Shem and son of Heber (Hebrews) assumed the word Cypress for shipbuilding (not Cyprus which means kupros/copper the island).
