A good father doesn’t abandon his child just because the child while knowing better acts badly in public, rather the good father continues correcting the child, hoping the child will behave better going forth, as it is with Elohim and His children, not abandoning them for bad thoughts and behavior rather showing unlimited patience to continue working with the child to become a virtuous Christian who though will still be needing forgiveness as long as he/she walks this earth in fallen flesh.
