Should Russia continue the pounding of Ukraine, more western armaments will come in for Ukraine’s forces, even from NATO countries obviously (for instance from the U. S.), in effect Putin battling NATO when Ukraine hadn’t even joined! Thusly Putin should pullout of Ukraine on the condition that Ukraine won’t be joining NATO, unless Putin wants to continue battling in effect NATO military in Ukraine.
