The Republican U. S senators up for reelection in 2024 (assuming the Republicans gain the Senate majority in 2022) will have to think long and hard about whom they select to become Senate Leader, because they (senators such as Mike Braun, Roger Wicker, Kevin Kramer, Mitt Romney, Ted Cruz, and John Barrasso) would probably be ousted in the 2024 primaries should they back the Old Crow senator Mitch McConnell, a shady character indeed who should be retired.
