It’s a good bet that Trump would much prefer Republican congressman Jim Banks as Speaker of the House after the 2022 midterm elections rather than Kevin McCarthy, because McCarthy has proven merely a fair-weather friend while Banks is a milder version of Jim Jordan, so McCarthy has reason to support the RINO’s running for reelection over the Trump-backed candidates in Republican primaries this spring, reason to give directly to the Trump-backed candidates rather than through the RNC.
