In the Irish history found in the Annals of Clonmacnois, descendants of Cham (Noah’s son Ham) were the first to settle Ireland (during the Ice Age), known as the Formorians, one of whom circa 1700 b. c. was king Breas, namesake of Hy Brasil (the now submerged Porcupine Bank about two hundred miles southwest of Ireland) and perhaps of Brazil across the Atlantic, as other progeny of Ham, the Amorites (progeny of Ham’s son Canaan see Genesis 10), had sailed there too where they called themselves the Amuraca or Americos tribe, records or folklore of those voyages perhaps known to Saint Brendan the Navigator who in the 6th century sailed across the Atlantic, that knowledge later used by Columbus.
