Allegheny Mountains Named for Allegewi Giants Dominated Ohio River Valley to the Mississippi Fought the Lenape Tribe

Saint Brendan the navigator of Galway during the 6th century a. d. sailed across the Atlantic to a large continent where he came upon a great river flowing east to west, almost surely the Ohio river, proving transoceanic navigation long before Columbus. The Allegheny river flows southerly from the Allegheny mountains into the Ohio river, named for the Allegewi tribe of giants, whose bones were noted in over 300 newspaper articles in the U. S. in the 1800’s and early 1900’s, transoceanic navigators who’d come across the Atlantic during the Ice Age perhaps, certainly during the centuries which followed.
