Ships are waiting outside the ports of Long Beach and LA because the warehouses and dock spaces are packed with containers, packed not because there are not enough truck drivers to haul them out, rather that half of the trucks in long haul are over three years old and don’t qualify to haul in California where stiffer emissions standards went into effect in October of 2020. The big retailers saw this coming and were able to divert their imports to ports in other states while the small and medium retailers are being crushed by Newsom’s absurd emissions standards.
