Elisha a grandson of Japheth (see Genesis 10) was the progenitor of the Hellenes (his father Javan of the Ionians) for whom was named Elysium, the Elysian Fields, where are the Fortunate Isles also known as the Isles of the Blessed, idyllic, a land of fruit (Avalon), probably the Canary Islands (the Fortunate Isles) a few days sail from Spain wrote Plutarch. That realm was also called Hades, for Gades a grandson of Canaan, but when the Ice Age was ending, the Phoenician Cadmus (a brother of Phoenix) established himself in Greece by building Thebes, and his sister Europa’s son Rhadamanthus claimed the concept of the abode of the dead in the west for the Hellenes of Greece, Elysium named for Elisha.
