Today at his press briefing, secretary of state Antony Blinken finally gave a number of Americans (1,500) still stranded in Afghanistan (4,500 having evacuated already), the supposed 1,500 stranded said to be in Kabul and the provincial cities, about 500 of whom said to be in contact with the State Department, but reportedly 1,200 alone are stranded at the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul, leading one to believe that Blinken’s number is low, 5,000 still stranded probably closer to the truth.
